• When I think of film, I think of a journey. That idea—of movement, growth, and discovery—was central to this project. I wanted to visually express how a journey feels, whether it’s a character’s arc, a filmmaker’s process, or someone’s path toward love, passion, or purpose.

  • Using ‘Rawest’ as a foundation, I modified the lengths and widths of individual letterforms to reflect themes of filmmaking in New York City.

Extended letterforms symbolize the long, vigorous journeys of creatives and characters. In contrast, wide letters evoke the satisfaction and fullness that comes with meaningful work, while thin, sparse forms represent the challenging, uncertain periods in a creative career.

The resulting typeface visually narrates the emotional and physical arcs that define life in the film industry—highlighting its energy, struggle, and reward.
